Learn to self-finish your 4" round ornament in this 2-hour instructional class taught by Cathey Buck with Lizzy Claire Designs.

Cathey is a local needlepoint canvas designer from right here in our area. She will be bringing a trunk show with her so you can shop for your next project that day. Because let's be honest, after you take her class, you will be addicted before you ever step out of the store. We also have her canvases available in our store!

CLASS OVERVIEW: Learn to finish your own needlepoint canvas into a hanging ornament in this 2-hour class packed with the information, instruction, and tools you need to complete your own finishing. Perfect for those newer to the craft or experienced stitchers, you will learn the "cookie method" of finishing a 4" round ornament. You will learn how to prep and secure the canvas, create your interior mechanics, receive hand-stitching tips, and be guided through making and attaching your own cording with a hanging loop.

Our instructor will guide you through the steps of ornament finishing and help you build confidence through hands-on practice. No experience is needed for this class. Just bring your fully stitched 4" ornament (please stitch an extra 2-3 rows outside of the 4" design), and gain the confidence to begin finishing your own round ornaments, saving you the time and money of paying for and waiting on a professional finisher.

Must bring a completed 4" round ornament ready for finishing, including 2-3 additional rows of stitching outside the 4" design. Our Beginning Needlepoint Class listed here includes the perfect ornament for this class.

All materials needed for finishing your ornament will be included.

INCLUDED:

• Your choice of a coordinated selection of 100% high-quality quilting cotton for the back of your ornament (or bring your own backing fabric. Must be equivalent thickness to quilting cotton).
• Batting
• Acid-free foam core
• Use of clips 
• Use of craft knife if needed
• Use of clippers
• Use of cording-maker
• Your choice of 2 Colors of pearl cotton for cording (or bring your own pearl cotton for your cording; we use size 5).
• Thread for securing canvas
• Thread for sewing cording
• Sewing needle

PREREQUISITES: Must be comfortable learning and doing basic hand-sewing.

PLEASE NOTE: Class "starts" at 10:00 to allow time to select your backing fabric and cording colors. Instruction will begin PROMPTLY at 10:30, so if you are bringing your own cording and backing fabric supplies, be prepared to begin at 10:30.
